Amanda's acting debut was in 1996 on the Nickelodeon variety show, All That, where she immediately starting gaining popularity. In 1999, at the age of 13, Amanda was given her own variety show simply called "The Amanda Show", where she acted in near every skit. Before the show ran it's course, Amanda won a Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Award. Her big movie break was in 2002 when she acted opposite Frankie Muniz in Big Fat Liar. That same year Amanda began her run on the TV series, What I Like About You, which ended only last year. Amanda's popularity has steadily increased with her movie roles the last few years, which include What A Girl Wants, Lovewrecked, She's The Man, the remake of Hairspray and Sydney White where she plays the lead character.
